NEW FroggaStain is a safe nucleic acid staining solution for visualization of double-stranded DNA, single-stranded DNA, and RNA in agarose gels. Developed to replace toxic ethidium bromide (EtBr) which is a potent mutagen commonly used in gel electrophoresis for visualization of nucleic acids in agarose gels. FroggaStain is safe and non-carcinogenic by the Ames-test. The results are negative in both the mouse marrow chromophilous erthrocyte micronucleus and mouse spermary spermatocyte chromosomal aberration tests.
FroggaStain emits green fluorescence when bound to DNA. It has two excitation wavelength peaks when bound to nucleic acid, at 267nm and 294nm. The emission wavelength for the DNA SafeStain is 530nm.

FroggaStain can be used to detect dsDNA, ssDNA, and RNA in agarose gels
FroggaStain is safe and non-carcinogenic by the Ames-test.
FroggaStain can be visualized with LED light and is preferred instead of a UV light source due to the harmful nature of UV light.
For best results, dilute the FroggaStain staining solution 20,000 times in your gel running buffer
